How to Use & Care

1. Grind & Tamp: Dose your finely ground coffee beans into the precision filter basket. Tamp evenly with a flat surface.
2. Lock & Pull: Insert the portafilter firmly into your group head. Start the extraction and watch the crema converge into a single rich stream.
3. Cleaning Instructions: Unscrew the wooden handle prior to deep cleaning. Wash the stainless steel basket and head with warm water and mild detergent. Do not wash the wooden handle in the dishwasher; dry it immediately after rinsing and apply mineral oil occasionally to preserve the wood finish.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1: Why should I switch to a bottomless portafilter?

A1: A bottomless (naked) portafilter allows you to observe the extraction process directly. It reveals spurting, spraying, or uneven flow so you can quickly adjust your grind size, dose, or tamping technique.

Additionally, because the espresso streams straight into your cup without hitting a metal spout, it yields a thicker, richer crema.

Q2: Will this portafilter fit my Breville espresso machine?

A2: Breville machines use different group head sizes. If you own a 54mm Breville model (Barista Express, Bambino, Barista Touch), please select our For Breville 54mm variant. For standard 58mm commercial group heads or E61 machines, select our 58mm options.

Q3: How do I remove or clean the precision filter basket?

A3: You can easily pop out the precision filter basket using a basket removal tool or the edge of a blind filter disc. Wash both the basket and the stainless steel body thoroughly with warm water after daily use to prevent coffee oil buildup.
